project history:
This project was quite short. We only had about five days total, to make our video. The first thing we did was record me hitting the ball. We also got measurements from this, like how far the ball went. After that we calculated the physics of a golf swing. Next we edited our video and Nolan did voice recording over the video.
physics:
Velocity: speed with a given direction. Because velocity is included with a direction, it differs from speed, so you can have both a negative and positive velocity.
Projectile Motion: is a form of motion in which an object or particle is thrown, and moves along a curved path under the action of gravity. This path is followed by a parabola, an open symmetrical plane shaped like an arch.
Force: is a push or pull on an object. A common calculation to solve for force is mass times acceleration.
Friction: the resistance that an object or surface encounters when when moving over another.
Momentum: the quantity of motion of a moving body, measured by multiplying its mass and velocity.
Friction: the resistance that an object or surface encounters when moving over another.
Acceleration: change in the rate or speed of an object.

We did have some trouble with this assignment. At first, we used a driver as our golf club (most powerful club). We soon changed to a wedge, once we realized that there was nowhere on campus that we could safely strike the ball with the driver. Our other issue was the creation of our video. We did not use proper technology at the beginning, so we had to redo part of our video recording. I really loved this project, because I love sports and would consider going into the science of sports as a career.
