Murderer mystery overview:
In this project we had to act as forensic scientists. There was a make believe homicide. We had to analyze the evidence left at the crime scene and decide who we would request an arrest warrant for. Motives were another factor that we took into account. The evidence led us to believe that Sam Stubs or Norma Nanny committed the crime. In the end we believe it Sam Stubs, because he had more motives.

Evidence:
Fingerprinting: There were fingerprints left at the crime scene, we took them into our lab and tested them to find out who's they were. We did this by brushing over the fingerprints with ultraviolet powder. Then we used a black light to decipher who's fingerprint it is. It was a loop pattern that seemed to match Sam Stubs fingerprint.
DNA Sequencing: We took DNA samples and used gel electrophoresis to analyze the DNA found at the crime scene.
Pedigree: After doing the pedigree we realized that all of the guests had some types of relations. Our pedigrees were similar to family trees, but slightly more complex. This gave us clearer motives for Sam Stubs. Captain Cornball had an affair with Sam Stubs mother.
Chromatography: In this part of our evidence analysis we compared the pigments from pens. Our goal was to find a match to the note found at the crime scene reading, "U r a dead man." We found a match with Norma Nanny's and Sam Stubs' pens.
Blood Typing: At the crime scene type O blood was found. After our blood typing we found the matching type blood with Fred Fleckstone, Sam Stubs, and Captain Cornball.
Cariotyping: We found that many of the guests had chromosome disorders. Theresa Thyme has down syndrome. Sam stubs has an extra Y chromosome. Norma Nanny has three X's. Captain Cornball has an extra X chromosome.

Reflection:
Overall I really liked this project. Forensics was very interesting. It could be a possible career path down the road. I think that the biggest thing I could have improved on during this project is my focus. Most of the time I was focused, but two days during the project where I was not very diligent. I think I did well at drawing conclusions from the evidence and making our presentation. Overall, this was one of my favorite projects of the school year.
